I’m on here tonight to share a how to video! It has been a while since I’ve posted a tutorial and my best friend just so happened to ask me to show her how to apply false lashes today. So, I had to jump on it! Keep reading (and watching) to learn about how to apply false lashes and my favorite falsies.
First of all, my ultimate favorite false eye lashes are Ardell Lashes and Kiss. Let me just preface that by telling you how terrible I was at applying false lashes not too long ago.
All my makeup friends would just pop those babies on like it was no big deal. To me? HUGE DEAL! I would buy the really cheap brands with the really cheap and very ineffective lash glue and I would struggle with applying the falsies for fifteen minutes and then give up! They wouldn’t stay on, they were uncomfortable, and they were just awful! I would envy everyone who could look flawless all day in their beautiful lashes!
Well, turns out it’s all about the false eye lashes you purchase. When I got serious about doing freelance makeup I decided I would absolutely have to learn how to apply false lashes. So I watched a few Jaclyn Hill tutorials and read a few reviews on quality lashes and I went for it! The first pair I bought were the Ardell Demi Wispies. They look like your real eye lashes with some added drama. I grabbed my tweezers, applied the glue, waited twenty seconds per Jaclyn Hill, and then popped them on. You guys, I succeeded!!!! It’s really not that hard! I promise. I will show you how in this video!
1.) Grab your tweezers and slowly peel the lash off of the packaging.
2.) Apply a small amount of lash glue to the lash band. Be sure to not load your lash with gobs of glue. Trust me on this one.
3.) Let your glue sit for twenty seconds and not a second less. Allow the glue to become tacky before applying.
4.) Line the lash up with your lash line. Be sure to apply the lash closely to your lash line for a natural look.
5.) Lay the lash on your lash line and adjust it with your tweezers. You will need to wiggle them into place starting from the outer corner in.
6.) Let the glue dry and brush the lash out with an unused mascara wand. You can apply mascara for a more natural look, however, you wont be able to reuse the falsies after this.
